She was predeceased by her husband L".ucien, her sister Yolande, and brother Raymond. Mom will be especially missed by her children Claudette, Nadine, Suzanne (Bill Makar), Alain, Ron (Jeannette), Jacqueline, Marianne, Lorette and David (Maria); her grandchildren Sheila-Mae, Lucien, Daniel (Becky), Craig, Pamela, Michelle, Samantha, Nena, Christine, Jessica, Michelle, and Christopher; her great-grandchildren Skylar, Eloise, Sophia, and Lachlan, her godchild Charlaine McCulloch; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mom was born in St. Claude, MB on June 12, 1926. She married Lucien on March 27, 1948. Denise was a dedicated teacher and over her career of 40 years, she introduced many children to the love of reading and learning. In the same time period she raised nine children and continually upgraded her own education graduating with her Bachelor of Arts Degree. Mom had a significant influence on many people throughout her life from students and their parents, co-workers, neighbours, bingo buddies, friends and family. She will be remembered for her impish grin, her sweet tooth, and her ability to sew, mend knit, or crochet anything and everything. She will be remembered with great love and affection and leaves a big hole in many lives. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. We want to express our appreciation and thanks to the nurses and physicians of the ICU at the St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Family was the most important thing to Lou. He served in the R.C.A.F. during World War II. He was also a quarter-century member of Abitibi Paper Co. Lou spent the last 11 years of his retirement in Richer, MB. Prayers for family and friends will be held at P. Coutu Funeral Directors (156 Marion St.) on Wednesday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 3:00 p.m. at the Ste. Anne Parish, 162 Central Ave., Ste. Anne, MB.
