It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "SAMUEL HOLOWATY, DATE OF PASSING: MAR 30, 2002; After a long and brave struggle with cancer, Samuel Holowaty passed away in the Seven Oaks General Hospital, Saturday morning, March 30, 2002 at the age of 90 years. Sam will be lovingly remembered b".y his family and many dear friends as a quiet man who always had a kind word to say and a quick joke to tell. He is survived by his wife, Jean, of 63 years; and was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Antonia; two sisters; and three brothers. Sam worked for many years at Manitoba Bridge and Foundry, retiring in 1975. He bowled at the St. Johns Cantius 5-Pin lanes and loved to play cards. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, April 3, at 9:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 4, at 2:30 p.m., also at Cropo Chapel, with interment following at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Robert and James Paluch, Lenord and George Anneck, Peter Holowaty and David Holowaty. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Sams homecare workers for their aid in recent years and the doctors, nurses and staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital 5th floor Unit 1 for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9 or to a charity of your choice.
