      Odette was predeceased by her husband André Bazin in 2011; her parents, Jean-Louis and Mathurine Carel; her sisters, Louise (Auguste) Rey, Adrienne (Lucien) Bernard, Germaine (Arthur) Rosset, Madeleine (Jean) Martin; her brother Louis Carel; her sisters-in-law, Suzanne (Lionel) Badiou, Denise (Roger) Pittet and her brothers-in-law, Raymond Delaquis and Gérard Badiou.

      Odette was born on November 7, 1932 in St. Claude, Manitoba. She was the youngest of six and the apple of her father’s eye. She was also spoiled by her sisters and teased by her only brother. She graduated from high school in St. Claude in 1951 before moving to Winnipeg to obtain her x-ray technician diploma from the Misericordia Hospital in 1953. In 1957 she married Andre Bazin and together they raised their four sons. She continued working in the health care field as a hospital administrator in St. Claude until her retirement in 1992.

      Both before and following retirement, Odette and Andre travelled extensively with friends and family throughout Canada, the US, Europe and Asia. Her love of travel was instilled in her at a young age when she traveled to western Europe with her parents. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, supporting them in their various endeavours. She also enjoyed watching sports on TV, particularly curling and hockey.

      Funeral services will be held at the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Friday, October 25, 2024. Memorial service beginning at 1:30 p.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. The service will be available to be viewed via live streaming at www.afh.ca

      Memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice.

      Odette est née le 7 novembre 1932 à Saint-Claude, au Manitoba. Elle était la plus jeune de six enfants et la prunelle des yeux de son père. Elle a également été gâtée par ses sœurs et taquinée par son seul frère. Elle a obtenu son diplôme d’études secondaires à Saint-Claude en 1951 avant de déménager à Winnipeg pour obtenir son diplôme de technicienne en radiologie de l’Hôpital Misericordia en 1953. En 1957, elle a épousé André Bazin et ensemble ils ont élevé leurs quatre fils. Elle a continué à travailler dans le domaine des soins de santé en tant qu’administratrice d’hôpital à Saint-Claude jusqu’à sa retraite en 1992.

      Avant et après leur retraite, Odette et André ont beaucoup voyagé avec leurs amis et leur famille à travers le Canada, les États-Unis, l’Europe et l’Asie. Son amour des voyages lui a été inculqué dès son plus jeune âge lorsqu’elle a voyagé en Europe occidentale avec ses parents. Elle aimait passer du temps avec ses enfants et ses petits-enfants, les soutenant dans leurs diverses activités. Elle aimait aussi regarder les sports à la télévision, en particulier le curling et le hockey.

      Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église catholique romaine St-Claude le vendredi 25 octobre 2024. Le service commémoratif commence à 13h30 suivi de la messe funéraire à 14h00. Le service pourra être visionné en direct à afh.ca
