      It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "EDWARD PALUCH, BORN: JUL 05, 1929, DATE OF PASSING: SEP 08, 2014; Edward Paluch passed away after a battle with dementia at the age of 85. He is survived by his loving wife Eleanor of 59 years, his sister Josephine, sister-in-law Elsie and brother-".in-law Ed, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Karolina, his son Larry, brothers Frank and Stanley, sisters Beatrice, Victoria and Helen. Ed was the youngest of seven children and lived at home to work on the farm until it was sold. He moved to Winnipeg when he was 24 years old. He met and married the love of his life, Eleanor on July 16, 1955. Ed was employed with Eaton's until he joined B.A. Oil in 1956 and remained their until his retirement 34 years later. After his retirement we traveled to Florida for many winters and also many winters to Texas. He was an avid sports fan and went to many Bomber games in earlier years. In 1992 we moved to Camp Morton and he enjoyed the outdoors and garden. In 2006 we moved to Gimli to Rotary Towers, where we made many friends. He went in to Personal Care (Betel Home) in Gimli in 2012. A funeral service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm, with Father Michael Nwosu officiating. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alfred Haas, Bryan Swaykowski, David Salichuk, Greg Luschinski, Jack Lubinski and Lorne Haas. Many thanks to the staff at Betel for their excellent care and compassion, and to Dr. S. Rhoma for his care. In lieu of flowers, donations to Betel Home Foundation in Gimli would be appreciated. Rest in peace, Edward, I will always love you.

      Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, Dave and Ann Salichuk, her husband Edward, her son Larry, and her brother Ed Salichuk. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sister Elsie Zazulinski, nephew Bryan (Lorna) Swaykoski, niece Delores (Greg) Luschinski, niece Kim (Bryan) Money, nephew David Salichuk, five great-nephews, one great-niece and many other relatives and close friends.
      Eleanor was born at home on July 1, 1937 in the Polson area. She married Edward Paluch in 1955 and they lived in Winnipeg most of their married lives. They had one child, Larry, born in 1956, who passed away in 1977.
      Eleanor worked from home as a seamstress. She designed and created many beautiful bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses. She also loved to knit and crotchet, and later took up cross-stitch. She used her talent to create many special gifts for family and friends. She also donated cross-stitch pictures to Betel Home.
      Eleanor and Ed loved to travel and spent their winters in warmer climates for as long as they were able to. They moved to Camp Morton in 1992. She loved the peacefulness of living in the country. She enjoyed gardening, making pickles and preserves and hosting many family gatherings. In 2007 they moved to Rotary Towers in Gimli. They made many new friends there and Eleanor helped out with the social committee. She also loved volunteering at Betel Home and spent all of her spare time there in the past five years.
      Special thanks to all Eleanor's friends who visited her faithfully in the hospital and to the residents of Betel who coloured beautiful get well cards for her. We would also like to thank the staff at Gimli Community Health Centre for their kindness and compassion during Eleanor's final days.
      Funeral service will be held at Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli, MB at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21. Interment at Assumption Cemetery, Winnipeg, MB. Pallbearers: Greg Luschinski, Bryan Swaykoski, David Salichuk, Bryan Money, Jack Lubinski and Justin Luschinski.
      In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Betel Home Foundation, P.O. Box 10, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0, or a charity of one's choice.
