It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "RENE GRENIER, Born: Mar 07, 1918, Date of Passing: Jun 26, 2010; Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, René Grenier Sr. passed away on June 26, 2010 at the age of 92 years old at Centre Taché Centre. He was predeceased by his brothers Leopo".ld, Edmond, Armand and Noël, and by sister Jeanne. René will be sadly missed by his loving wife Alice Grenier (nee Thorimbert), his children René Jr. (Louise Stragier), Rolande Dodgson (Gary), Noëlla Grenier, and Clarisse Daudet (Bertrand), 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as Auguste, Marie, Harriet, and Audrey. René was born in Woodridge, Manitoba on March 7, 1918. He served as a coast guard in Halifax and Newfoundland in the Second World War and was an honorary life member with the Knights of Columbus. He worked at the St. Boniface Sanitorium / St. Amant Centre for 37 years as a stationary engineer. Viewing was held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at St. Eugène Church, 1007 St. Mary's Road with funeral mass following at 1:30 p.m. Interment followed in Green Acres Cemetery. Reception took place in the church hall. The family wishes to thank Claudette Poitras for all her help these past few years. A special thanks to the staff at 5ABC and 3ABC at Centre Taché. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in René's memory to Centre Taché Centre or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
