GABRIELLE LALONDE (DONDO) (GABY), BORN: JAN 07, 1925, DATE OF PASSING: APR 06, 2021; It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gabrielle Lalonde (née Dondo), our beloved mother and grandmother on April 6, 2021, at the age of 96. Gabrielle was born on January 7, 1925 in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes. She later married Louis Lalonde and together they settled down in Transcona and then in Norwood where they raised their six children. Gabrielle will be greatly missed by her children: Louisa, Marc (Magalie), Denis, Michel (Patricia), Joanne (Edouard) and Jacqueline, her sister Yvette (Henri) and her brother Roland (Alice), her sisters-in-law: Yvette, Grace and Stella, her eight grandchildren, her ten great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Gaby touched the lives of many with her joie de vivre and contagious laughter. She found joy in the simple things in life; a good cup of tea, spring flowers and being with her loved ones. Gabrielle enjoyed being active well into her 80s and could be found walking around Saint-Vital and Saint-Boniface or swimming at the YMCA and Bonivital pools. Gaby was a creative and talented seamstress, she loved crocheting, knitting and macrame. She also had a passion for flowers, which filled her homes, gardens, and balconies with colour and joy. The family wishes to express special thanks to the wonderful staff at Actionmarguerite Saint-Vital-Valade. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Actionmarguerite Foundation, specifically to the Resident and Family Council Courtyard Project.
