Mom was predeceased by her husband Michael on September 16, 2012, her parents, William and Matrona Stolar, sister Mary, brothers, Philip, Alex, Joe, Peter and Ed and unnamed baby son who passed away at birth.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Mona and son-in-law Tom, and son Walter. She is also survived one brother John (Ella) and sisters-in-law, Rose and Polly as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Mom was born on September 25, 1924. Half of her life was spent growing up in St. Andrews on the family farm looking after cattle, gardening and cooking. All her skills came in useful when she met Mike and not long after they met they married in 1965. She loved living the farm life and shared this love with the two children they adopted.
Her cooking was great as her perogies and cinnamon twists were a favourite among family and guests at Mom and Dad's home in Petersfield. Mom enjoyed her life in Petersfield and took part in both church and community events. She was and will be deeply missed by her family and many friends that she made along the way. Her willingness to listen to people and share her stories were always welcomed and enjoyed by those that got a chance to sit down and chat with her.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and health care aides at Betel Home in Selkirk for making Mom's stay pleasant.
