EMILY DZIEDZIC, BORN: JUN 29, 1916, DATE OF PASSING: FEB 02, 2010; It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on February 2, 2010 at the age of 93 at the Golden Links Lodge Personal Care Home. Emily leaves to mourn her daughter Florence and son-in-law Orest Kosowan, daughter-in-law Suzelle Dziedzic, five grandchildren, Kelly Bazinet (Ray), Dale Kosowan (Que), Dean (Charity), Shawn (Jillian) and Janelle (Ron) as well as three great-grandchildren, Rylun and Brayden Bazinet whom they fondly referred to as Pepsi Grandma and Ryder Dziedzic, numerous nieces and nephews and the extended Dziedzic families. She was predeceased by her husband Albin, son Clarence, parents Rose and Thomas Yablonski, sisters Mary Stadnyk, Alice Lipischak, Anne Fedorak, and brother Stan Yablonski. Emily was born on the family farm at Overstoneville, MB on June 29, 1916 and worked for various families in the Arnaud district. It is there that she met Alex and they were married on November 16, 1937. Together they worked the family farm until their retirement in 1974. She was an active member and supporter of her church in Tolstoi, MB as well as St. Andrew Bobola in Winnipeg. She was a member of the CWL of the Parish and the Prendergast Seniors Club. Emily enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking and her garden. Many were fortunate to receive her famous doughnuts, perogies and veggies from her garden. As her health began to fail, she became a resident of the Golden Links Lodge where she made many new friends and enjoyed activities and the fellowship of other residents. Thank you to the staff of Golden Links who provided such excellent and compassionate care. Also thanks to Betty Kiyan for her many many countless and regular visits to her only aunt . Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 5 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Andrew Bobola Church, 541 Marion Street, with Father Sebastian Gacki officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Should friends so desire donations in Emily's name may be made to a charity of your choice.
