Per a story told to Rick Dondo by Rose (Le Devehat) Kolly in October, 2019...
Gaston fell in love with the family domestic and wanted to marry her. His father, Jules Placide Rebiffe, disinherited him as a result.
Gaston and his love, Marguerite Le Devehat, married and left for Canada, where they established themselves, raised their family, and lived the rest of their lives.
