- This was a civil ceremony, required in order to emigrate!; Per an article in The Winnipeg Tribune dated 1955/09/17, they celebrated anniversaries on Sept 11, despite the records in France. No record has been found in MB!
- The couple MAY have also executed a church wedding in St Claude after their arrival; this is the wedding date they celebrated as an anniversary 50 years later DESPITE what is recorded in Marguerite's obituary
