After a brief battle with cancer, Mom went to be with her Lord. She maintained her dignity throughout and passed away peacefully at home with her children by her side as per her wishes. June was predeceased by her late husband Bert; brothers Dan, Neil, Ed, as well as sisters-in-law Martha and Betty, and a number of in laws from dad's side of the family. She leaves to mourn her passing her six children and spouses Terry (Lynda), Garry (Sharon), Sharon (Frank), Cam (Joann), Shelley (Wayne), and Charlene (Brent). Also left to mourn are brothers Alvin (Shirley) and Jack; sisters-in-law Margaret, Helen, Fran, Marie, Dora; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. For 29 years mom was known as Auntie June to the 109 kids that passed through her home daycare. Many of these kids now have children of their own and wish that auntie June was still in business. During this time mom was famous for her homemade buns, macaroni and tomato soup, and just good homemade cooking. Love you mom rest in peace The Asher family would like to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Lindenschmidt and Bev, Selkirk Homecare, (and some special people, you know who you are), Palliative care, and last but not least her family of friends at Knox Presbyterian Church (especially Anthon). In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Knox Presbyterian Church of Selkirk. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24 in the Knox Presbyterian Church in Selkirk at 341 Eveline Street. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
