It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "EDITH TRUSH (STUTSKY), BORN: NOV 18, 1919, DATE OF PASSING: JUN 17, 2020; It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother in the early morning hours of June 17, 2020, at the River East Personal Care Home.".
Predeceased by her husband Harry, in 1993, and survived by her six loving children, Lise, Theresa (Roland), Veronica (Rick), Terry (Nancy), Pat (Kevin), and Harold (Sandra). Also survived by her eight grandchildren, Tamara, Rodney, Lisa, Tracy, Ryan, Dylan, Shawna and Robert, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Our mother was born in Foley, Manitoba, on November 18, 1919, into a hard-working family dedicated to working the land and building the community. She married our father in 1941 and established their home in Cooks Creek, where they enjoyed many wonderful years as members of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, and raised their family. With Harry's passing, she lived her final years in Oakbank with many of her beloved family nearby.
Throughout her life, Edith retained her pioneering spirit. She was a proud, dignified and hard-working woman who dedicated her life to the well-being of her family; her entire life centered around them. A passionate gardener, her manicured lawn and flower gardens were her pride and joy. The weeds never had a chance! She loved the good earth and the bounty that she could bring to the table. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored her and will fondly remember the love and the richness of food, laughter and joy that she bestowed upon each and every one of them. Her cooking was a labour of love, especially her perogies and cabbage rolls, as well as the canning from her huge garden, all of which was generously shared with her family. As well, she enjoyed volunteering at her church making perogies with her many good friends.
We thank the staff at River East Personal Care Home for their compassionate care during this time of challenging pandemic. We also thank our mother's companions, Rita, Tessie, Ursula and Mariama for their support and kind compassion.
With Covid-19 in mind, a private family service will be held.
