      It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "STEVE POLISCHUK, BORN: JUN 30, 1916, DATE OF PASSING: MAY 19, 2002; Suddenly on Sunday, May 19, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre, Steve Polischuk passed away at the age of 85. Steve was born in Roseau River, MB on June 30, 1916, youngest child o".f Anastasia and Wasyl Polischuk. Steve and the late Mary (nee Mihaychuk) were married September 7, 1939 and shortly there after moved to Toronto where Dad worked in a bakery. Coming back to Manitoba in 1944 he worked as a garage mechanic and they settled on Rossmore Rd in West St. Paul for almost 50 years. He was self-employed in the construction trade insulating homes with shavings, retiring in 1977. Dad loved to fly and received his private pilots license in November, 1974 at the age of 58. After selling the family home in West St. Paul, he resided at the LaBroquerie Seniors Complex in LaBroquerie for a short time, before making his home in the CGS Manor for the past 10 years. Neighbours passing by the cottage on Westview Drive in Lac du Bonnet, will always remember him watering, fertilizing, cutting his lush green lawn. It was his pride and joy. Up until his passing he still loved to go flying, fishing and spending time in the outdoors. Steve was predeceased by his wife Mary on May 21, 1986. He leaves to mourn his daughter Iris (Bill) Trofimenkoff; son Jim (Connie) grandchildren, Curtis (Pauline) Trofimenkoff, Stephen, Lisa Trofimenkoff, Hope and April Polischuk; great-granddaughters, Mikayla, Mellissa and Amanda Trofimenkoff. He is survived by brother Paul of San Diego, CA. Prayers will be held on Thursday, May 23, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, May 24, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. with a Redemptorist Father officiating.
