It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "RACHEL SCHENK BOSC 1956 - 2025; Date of Passing: Dec 17, 2025; Rachel Bosc passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on the evening of December 17, 2025, with her loving husband, Robert, by her side. She was 69 years old at the time of her pa".ssing.
Rachel will be forever remembered by her husband, Robert Schenk, as well as her siblings, Claudette Saquet, Mariette Saquet, Denis Bosc, Rheal Bosc, and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, Norbert and Marie Bosc.
The third daughter of Norbert Bosc and Marie Kolly Bosc, Rachel was born in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba in 1956. She received her grade school education in that community. While attending high school in 1972, Rachel met Robert Schenk. Courtship and romance followed. Both knew that one day they would marry.
After high school, Rachel moved to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics. During her studies, she worked at Safeway as a "True Touch Cashier" and later at Hudson's Bay in Home Furnishings as a Management Trainee. Upon graduating from the University of Manitoba, she began her career as a Home Economist with the Manitoba Department of Agriculture, serving communities in the Brandon area before transferring to the Starbuck, Morris, and Carman areas where she gained the respect of all she worked with.
In the spring of 1979, Rachel and Robert's high school dreams became reality as they married in a beautiful ceremony in Winnipeg. Their extended family fondly recalls the wonderful wedding reception held on the River Rouge that memorable spring evening.
While continuing her work as a home economist, Rachel returned to university in the mid-1990s, earning her Masters of Business Administration from the University of Manitoba. She then worked in downtown Winnipeg as an Economist, leading the Agri Ventures section of the Manitoba Department of Agriculture. In this role, she supported small business startups with an agricultural focus, continuing this work until retirement.
Rachel's fondness for economic and statistical work continued into her retirement, where she managed personal and family affairs using spreadsheets and other tools, including helping her brother Rheal.
Rachel enjoyed travelling with Robert in her retirement years, often visiting Mexico and various European destinations. Together, they journeyed across Canada and many parts of the Western United States on road trips.
Rachel was deeply committed to the happiness and well-being of those around her, especially her brother Rheal, who required special care. He was a dedication she carried, to the last day of her life when she tried to make a daily FaceTime call to entertain him in the midst of delirium. She would ensure he had gifts and snacks at his residence while making sure his workers and fellow residents had gifts at Christmas and other occasions. You could always find her on her smart phone at 7:00 p.m. everyday entertaining Rheal.
A service honouring Rachel's life will be held at a later date.
