Bert fought his hardest until hi".s last breath and we feel so fortunate that he was able to council us until he ultimately passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 7, 2025, at the St Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. He leaves to mourn his wife of 45 years, Bev; children, Leah and James (Gillian); and grandchildren, Benjamin and Rose.

Bert also leaves to mourn two brothers, Normand (Mimmo) and Roger (Louise); and sister, Estelle (Roland). Also left to mourn are his mother in-law, Gerry; two sisters in-law, Joyce (Bruce) and Donna (Lynol); and brother in-law, Garry (Jackie); along with nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends.

Bert and Bev were married in May 1979. They started their life together in rural Alberta before returning home to Manitoba in 1992. Bert worked in the agriculture industry for over 40 years. They made several places their home over the years and collected many friends along the way, who became additional family members to them. Bert enjoyed curling, fishing, favourite TV shows and spending time with his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm on February 1, 2025, at The United Church in Meadowood, 1111 Dakota St., Winnipeg, MB. The service will be livestreamed on the church’s webpage (ucim.org).

We wish to thank the staff at the St. Boniface hospital, palliative ward for the care and love he received in his final days.
